Wedding Welcome Bags

What better way to greet out of town guests than with a bag filled with goodies? Recently, I put together Hotel Welcome Bags for a client’s wedding. Welcome bags are a great way to make your guests feel comfortable during their stay and enjoy items that they don’t have in their room.

The first step is to start with the colors you want to use for the bags. The Knot's Wedding Shop is a great resource for all sizes and colors of bags. Etsy is another great resource for bags, tissue paper and stationary needed for your hotel welcome bags. PixiesPassion on Etsy is an amazing vendor that has so many colors of tissue paper, perfect for choosing the perfect match for your bags. I ordered customized "welcome" tags from Willow Glen Stationary on Etsy. She also has all different colors to match your color scheme and can also customize the message along with the font on the tag. Both vendors got my materials to me very quickly and were great to work with!

Since this was a Philadelphia wedding, we narrowed down the items to a list of Philly favorites including Tastycakes, Peanut Chews, Hershey Kisses and Herr’s Pretzels. Depending on the theme or location of your wedding, you can customize the bags to fit your event. Do some research and see what are the local favorites or if there are any foods that originated in the area. Maybe include a bride & groom’s favorite snack, treat or beverage. The possibilities are endless!

Each Hotel Welcome Bag also included an official Philadelphia Visitor Guide which I picked up at the Visitors Center. Visitors guide and brochures are normally free at the local area’s visitor center. Be sure to include maps & information on transportation but it is also nice to include area restaurant information or other attractions.

Other items that are good to include are water bottles, mints, gum, Tums & Advil (or some other type of headache/pain reliever). Your guests are going to be partying the night away so make sure to give them items they may need to recover!

Lastly, if you are hosting a weekend of events for your wedding, include the itinerary or any information in the bag or at the front desk so guests can stay informed. A Welcome Letter from the Bride & Groom or the families is also a nice touch of personalization to thank your guests for making the trip and making them feel welcome.

  4. I am in love with these wedding welcome bags. I will also be having an intimate wedding reception at one of best wedding venues Los Angeles. The chic barn theme is my choice for party and I am recently gathering DIY craft and decoration ideas. If you have any then please share here.
